Brief History Spring Lake Fire Company No. 1 was the first fire company to serve and help protect the residents of Spring Lake and neighboring towns. The first regular meeting was held on Nov 11, 1890. What makes Fire Co., No. 1 unique is the members own, maintain and insure the firehouse, as well as owning 2 of the 3 fire trucks housed at the station. In today's high cost of equipment and buildings most fire companies are funded 100% by municipalities. Our purchases were made possible by the Generous donations from the residents & businesses over the past 108 years. We pride ourselves in still being able to purchase new apparatus through donations rather than impacting the municipal budget. To this day the Fire company is still manned solely by Volunteers.

	When replacing propane tanks on BBQ grills, Always tighten hose connections securely and check for leaks prior to using.
	Keep portable heaters away from furniture, drapes and other sources of ignition. Have your fireplace chimney cleaned annually. Make sure the flue is open prior to using your fireplace.

Being an ALL Volunteer Fire Company we are currently in need of new members. We have a Junior Firefighter program for youths who are at least 16 yrs old. Anyone interested, can call the firehouse or stop by on a drill or meeting night. Meetings held on the 1st Thursday of every month at 8PM. Drills are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7PM.
